R.I.P. Paul Raven |
22.10.07 10:16 |

LITTLE CREEK STUDIO BASH... |
21.10.07 23:22 |

5.11.06 12:25 |
Karten) & meinem Ipod etc.
MAY YOU ROT IN HELL, SUCKER!!!!
ein angepisster V.O.

Metal Dayz 4.-6. August, Pratteln CH |
7.8.06 01:08 |
moin moin,
PARTY ON; MOSH ON; ROCK ON; SKIN UP!!!
-inga-
yay... fighting hangover here...
after a three years break, metal dayz festival took place this weekend again. the billing was smaller than before, but it rocked nonetheless. well, it might depend on your music preferences...
there are two stages, one indoors, one outdoors, where the bands play alternating. that means you can watch one band indoors while outdoors is changeover and you don't miss any act.
GurD were scheduled for friday 23:00 as headliner on the outside stage, right after Blaze and just before indoors headliner Rage.
as we wanted to see Crucified Barbara, we arrived at around six. the metal dayz festival is actually a very familiar event organized by the z7 club (most famous metal club in switzerland), not too big but great, so it was a smooth check-in.
Crucified Barbara were great! in case you don't know them, they're a four piece girl band from sweden playing some really cool rocknroll. the singer looks like joan jett's daughter, great voice and some decent shredding! awesome bassplayer and a really tough and straight drummer! some stupid dumbasses were unnecessarily yelling "undress!" here and there. funny, how some individuals still did not notice we have 2006.
well, anyways, i was absolutely impressed how good they sound. jeff beck's theory is partly disproved. yes, it definitely is.
after a delicious meal (babsi is the queen of catering!), GurD went out for a successful signing session. the new album is out since last week and there was a recognizable amount of fans who wanted to get autographs. happy band! (and happy me, of course)
thanx to the professional stage crew we set up the whole equipment in around 15 minutes, so everybody had 45 minutes left relaxing and getting ready.
there was some rainshowers throughout the day but somehow, all bands that played outside were lucky because it only rained in the breaks. while we had changeover, it started raining heavily. i was surprised there was still so much water left in the clouds and it didn't really looked like it would stop on time again... but you won't believe, there were a few die-hard fans who were standing in the rain watching us preparing everything for the show and yelling "GurD!!! GurD!!!" all over the place! they were soaking to the bone but didn't really care. THAT'S F***IN ROCKNROLL!!!! lml lml lml
GurD were one of two bands using pyrotech. they started the set with "razorblade" which began with a BOOM and immediately, the rain stopped! either, it was so terrified it disappeared back up or there really is a metalgod. well, however, the show was one big success. moshpit, headbanging and adrenaline.
we launched the new cd just before the titlesong "Bang!" with a can of beer, we had andre grieder (former poltergeist singer) perform sabbath's cover of "children of the grave" and as some fans demanded "face to face", the band decided spontaneously to play that instead of "we will resist".
during the whole show, grieder and myself had a blast behind the amps. we were partying, banging and scearming like crazy to every song (which led to heavy neck muscle soreness today...). this is how it is supposed to be.
after the show, we packed up in record time, which means you got more time to party. which we did. we saw Rage perfoming indoors; great show, and especially mike terrana on drums is worth watching. he is an animal! i was lucky staying behind the bassamp right next to the drumriser and took some cool photos. his drumming is amazing, it was like a course in "how to".
after some more beers, we went home around four in the morning.
with a nice little hangover and a short drive (we live close to the venue), we returnded at two thirty yesterday. unfortunately, we missed the biggest part of Pure Inc.'s show. gianni, the singer, also sings for The Order which is also GurD's drummer's second band. you should check both bands, gianni sounds like the new marc storace.
i spent most of the day backstage talking to friends, due to my hangover and the rain. Crucified Barbara filled in for Vandenplas, whose guitarplayer suffered from some wasp sting which he had an allergic reaction to.
After All were pretty cool, and i saw bits of Epica. to be honest, i am not really into this opera-kind of music but they know their business. beautiful female singer and a good show.
then there was dark funeral, which i preferred watching from the farest distance possible (again, not really my style of music. but i respect the drummer! gee, that guy is nuts!!! he blastbeats like a machine gun...). john oliva seemed to feel sorry for me, because he said "i'll fix that for you" in his nice and calm way with a smile.
and he did! all of you who never saw john oliva's pain: next time they are around your area, go see them! incredibly nice men and incredible artists! they played all the stuff like "gutter ballet", "hall of the mountain king" and every other song you expect them to play! amazing show, unique voice and absolute creeps-guaranty!
well, we made it home again somehow. i stayed home today while hubby went back again to see some of the other acts like Lake Of Tears, Shakra and In Extremo. Too bad, i couldn't see Nevermore... They were actually the band i wanted to see the most, but we had no babysitter so i had to stay in mommy mode today. but that was also fun, playing with my kids after a two days metal mayhem .
